How we can Help

Men’s Counselling

Men do not always arrive at counselling saying, “I need to talk about my feelings.”

Sometimes they arrive because a relationship has ended.

Because they are struggling with separation or parenting.

Because alcohol or other drug use has increased.

Because they are angry, exhausted or constantly thinking.

Because the life they expected to have suddenly looks very different.

Or because somewhere along the way they stopped feeling like themselves.

I have a particular professional interest in working with men experiencing separation, relationship change, grief, identity disruption, substance use concerns and major life transitions.

Counselling provides a confidential place to make sense of what has happened, examine what needs to change and begin rebuilding.

 Online Counselling

Professional counselling without the additional time and travel involved in attending an office.

Online counselling allows you to attend from a private location using your computer, tablet or phone.

Sessions offer the same individual attention and professional counselling relationship as face-to-face appointments while providing greater flexibility for people living in regional Western Australia or anywhere else in Australia.

Mobile Counselling

For some clients, travelling to a counselling office is difficult or impractical.

Mobile counselling may be available by prior arrangement within selected areas, including Northam and surrounding Wheatbelt communities.

Travel availability depends on location and scheduling, and additional travel fees apply.

Please contact Mobile Counselling Solutions to discuss whether mobile counselling is available in your area.

Start With a Conversation

You do not need to commit to ongoing counselling before speaking with me.

A free 15-minute initial consultation gives you an opportunity to briefly explain what you are looking for, ask questions about counselling and decide whether Mobile Counselling Solutions feels like the right fit.

Counselling Informed by Evidence — Centred on You

My counselling approach is person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-aware.

I draw on established therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy and attachment-informed practice.

My work is also informed by contemporary neuroscience, including research into predictive processing and memory reconsolidation.

Put simply, our brains use previous experiences to help predict what will happen next.

Those predictions influence what we notice, how we feel and how we respond.

Sometimes they remain accurate.

Sometimes we change but our expectations do not.

Counselling provides an opportunity to notice those old patterns, explore experiences that challenge them and develop new ways of understanding yourself and your life.

The science informs my practice. The person sitting in front of me remains at the centre of it.
