Men’s Counselling in WA

Support for men navigating separation, divorce, parenting pressure and major life change

Men often reach counselling when life has become difficult to hold together.

A relationship may have ended. Parenting arrangements may be changing. Communication with an ex-partner may be strained. There may be Family Court involvement, financial pressure, loneliness, anger, grief, anxiety or uncertainty about what comes next.

At Mobile Counselling Solutions, counselling for men is practical, respectful and focused on helping you understand what is happening, regain direction and make decisions that support the life you want to build.

You do not need to have everything worked out before reaching out.

Counselling for men after separation and divorce

Separation and divorce can affect almost every part of life.

You may be dealing with:

  • the loss of a relationship

  • reduced time with your children

  • parenting or co-parenting conflict

  • Family Court or legal processes

  • changes to your home, finances or daily routine

  • anger, frustration or resentment

  • loneliness and isolation

  • uncertainty about your future

  • difficulty sleeping or switching your mind off

  • increased alcohol or drug use

  • loss of confidence or identity

Counselling provides a confidential space to slow things down, look at what is happening and work out what you can influence.

The focus is not on telling you what to do. It is about helping you think clearly, recognise patterns, manage difficult emotions and move forward with greater control and purpose.

Parenting and Family Court stress

For many fathers, the hardest part of separation is uncertainty about their relationship with their children.

Conflict around parenting arrangements, communication, mediation or Family Court proceedings can become consuming.

Counselling can help you:

  • manage stress during legal and parenting processes

  • communicate more effectively during conflict

  • separate emotional reactions from practical decisions

  • remain focused on your children and long-term parenting relationship

  • manage anger, frustration and feelings of powerlessness

  • prepare for difficult conversations

  • maintain routines, work and wellbeing while legal matters continue

  • think through decisions without being overwhelmed by the immediate crisis

Mobile Counselling Solutions does not provide legal advice. Counselling can, however, help you manage the emotional and personal impact of legal and parenting processes.

Rebuilding after a relationship ends

The end of a relationship can leave men asking questions they never expected to face.

Who am I now?

What happens to my relationship with my children?

How do I start again?

Why did this happen?

What do I need to do differently next time?

Rebuilding is not simply about getting over a relationship. It can involve understanding what happened, deciding what matters now and developing a clearer picture of the man, father and partner you want to be going forward.

Counselling can help you work through the loss while also focusing on the future.

Men’s wellbeing

You do not need to be going through separation to benefit from counselling.

Men also contact Mobile Counselling Solutions for support with:

  • stress and anxiety

  • grief and loss

  • relationship difficulties

  • anger and emotional regulation

  • substance use concerns

  • work and life pressure

  • loneliness

  • major life transitions

  • confidence and self-esteem

  • feeling stuck or without direction

Sometimes the issue is clear. Sometimes you simply know that something is not working and you need somewhere to start.

That is enough.

A practical counselling approach

Counselling does not need to feel clinical, judgemental or disconnected from real life.

My approach is collaborative and practical.

We can look at what is happening now, what has contributed to it, what you want to change and what is realistically within your control.

Sessions may involve exploring emotions and relationships, identifying unhelpful patterns, developing new ways of responding to difficult situations, or simply having a confidential place to think clearly.

The aim is not to create dependency on counselling.

The aim is to help you develop greater understanding, choice and confidence in how you respond to your circumstances.

About your counsellor

Mobile Counselling Solutions is operated by Brent, a qualified counsellor with experience across counselling, community services, men’s work and complex life transitions.

The approach is grounded in respect, accountability and the belief that people are capable of change when they have the opportunity to understand themselves, make informed choices and develop practical ways forward.

The service has a particular interest in supporting men navigating separation, divorce, parenting changes and the emotional pressures associated with Family Court and relationship breakdown.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is simply an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling.

You do not need to prepare anything.

We will look at what is happening, what you would like help with and what you want to be different.

From there, we can decide together what would be most useful to focus on.
